Charred Zea mays was recovered from fill from pit (Feature 62) in Mound H, 15-40 cm below the surface (Crane and Griffin 1963:232). The authors point out this is a very recent date and "the pit was just below plow line and as a result more recent materials may have intruded" (Crane and Griffin 1963:232).
This date has been reported in the Canadian Archaeological Radiocarbon Database (CARD) (Morlan and Betts 1999).
