Cerro Blanco 1 is one of several Late Archaic sites investigated by Jonathan Haas, Winifred Creamer and their team in the Pativilca and Fortaleza Valleys in the Norte Chico Region of north-central coastal Peru (Haas et al. 2013). This site had evidence of maize pollen recovered from soil samples, one of which had an associated radiocarbon date.
